A division bench of the Supreme Court allows the appeal of Jaskaran Jeet Singh Deol, setting aside the Punjab & Haryana High Court order and holding that an arrestee released due to non-supply of written grounds or non-production within 24 hours cannot be automatically re-arrested by executive police action without prior judicial imprimatur, superior endorsement, and reassignment of investigation.
